lara will be offering up a pop-up community acupuncture at the Sou'wester on Friday,May 8th, 3-5pm and Saturday, May 9th, 10am-12pm. 20$-$50 sliding scale. Please inquire to sign up for a spot.

lara is an ongoing student and teacher with the Ling Gui International Healing Qigong School. They have permission to teach the Ma Wang Dui Birds, Concentrating the Hun, and Training the Po Qigong forms.
lara typically offer these forms through the Bhakti Yoga Movement Center and a summer backyard series. Next upcoming series is Qigong for Clarity of Mind and Instinct; Concentrating the Hun and Training the Po in June and Ma Wang Dui Birds Qi gong in July. Register here!

lara is also a co founder and member of Slow Blink Puppet Collective that was founded some time in 2017. They put together a show called ‘Ciclos’ that premiered at the Side Yard Farm in the Fall Equinox of 2024 and again at the Dekum St theater on the Winter Solstice of 2024. The are slowly crafting their next project encompassing pie travel, Sasquatch, Biz as Usual, and Chachi BT.

Guabonito is the original ocean healer, who brings our first Taíno Casike into balance in our Taíno mythology. Much of lara’s medicine comes from the medicine of guabonito.

lara pacheco (they / them / she / her / naturaleza) is a Taíno, Latinx, NGC and queer mamita that holds privilege with their light skin and hetero-presenting marriage. lara believes that part of our collective liberation is accessed through decolonizing ourselves, and weaving into the web of ancestral medicine. lara directly works through this realm with plants, fungi, puppets, music and dance.
lara spends time in one of their ancestral lands, Boriken (Puerto Rico), helping the work of Caminando La Utopía.
lara was a co-founder of Brown Girl Rise, and the founder of Atabey Medicine of Seed & Thistle Apothecary — an educational resource that centers Queer, Trans and Genderfluid Black and Indigenous voices within herbalism, now called Moon and Mirror.
As a survivor, lara was brought to the work of acupuncture because of its simple application, yet powerful healing potential for all kinds of people. They are greatly honored to accompany anyone else along their healing journey.
